Upon successful completion of the Bar Exams, followed by the conclusion of the Bar Practice Course, Readers are required to work under the guidance and supervision of one or two tutors for a twelve month period.
A tutor must be a barrister of at least seven years’ standing (barristers of 5-7 years may, in certain cases, be permitted to act as tutors), but not a Senior Counsel. Our Clerk can provide the names of potential tutors available on the floor on enquiry.
Whilst it is not a formal requirement, it is preferred that any reader having temporary accommodation on the floor be reading with, at least, one member of the floor.
Any enquiries and/or applications for readerships should be directed to our Clerk, in the first instance.
