Bio

John accepts briefs in all areas of law with a particular focus on federal criminal law.

Prior to coming to the bar, John was a Senior Federal Prosecutor at the Office of the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions. There, he worked in the Serious Financial and Corporate Crime and the Human Exploitation and Border Protection Practice Groups. John prosecuted summary and indictable federal offences involving white collar crimes, drug trafficking and importations, and online child abuse. John appeared and instructed in matters throughout the NSW court hierarchy, including the Local Court, District Court, Supreme Court, and Court of Criminal Appeal.

Before becoming a prosecutor, John worked as a solicitor at HWL Ebsworth in the workers’ compensation team. There, John acted for and advised insurers, self-insurers, and the Nominal Insurer in relation to their liabilities under the NSW workers’ compensation scheme.

John commenced his career in law in the Common Law Division of the Supreme Court of NSW as a tipstaff and researcher.
